The Story
Two-sided Eri Stole holding the patchwork made with cotton

The construction of the patchwork thrives on a supportive work environment. The tiny pieces of textiles are not easy to handle. Segregating them into colours also requires alertness and innate creative abilities. Knowing what heft and mood of a piece of textile can get stitched to another while understanding the emerging geometry is another deeper level of visualisation. We co-create each of these patchworks. We all have unique skills that merge only when we come together. We lean on each other for that expertise, which only each one of us can individually bring to the patchwork. Mumma holds the ground of patchwork upon which each one of us dances and performs our perfect move!

Patchwork is like life for me. We have to imagine, visualise, know, learn, do and watch where others may need support and yield where one is getting rigid. We believe in and hone our unique skills, and that skill provides the support for someone to lean on. Patchwork is crafted with handwoven cotton.

Eri Silk is naturally dyed, handspun, and woven on a throw shuttle loom in rural Assam.

Unni is a one-of-a-kind textile designed to highlight a unique coming together of various techniques and creativity of handcraft. This design will not be recreated.
