The Story
Two-sided Eri silk dupatta with Kanchipuram zari weaves

Zaria is my ode to method, process and solution.

When I go to weavers in the mainland, they say, “Our work is very difficult”.
When I go to teachers, they say, “Difficulty is a part of learning.”
When I go to my parents, they say, “It is only difficult till you have not done it enough.”
When I self-talk, I say, “Difficult means it is possible. It is not impossible.”
While I walk the Path and I see that something is stuck, tricky, or full of obstacles, I start preparing for the times ahead. I tell myself, “Brace yourself and welcome growth”.

Zaria brings together Eri Silk that is naturally dyed, handspun, and woven on a throw shuttle loom in rural Assam with Kanchipuram Zari weaves.

Zaria is a one-of-a-kind textile designed to highlight a unique coming together of various techniques and creativity of handcraft. This design will not be recreated.
